David James McFarlane of Kincardine died at Huron Shores Hospice, March 1, 2025, after a short illness. He was 87. Beloved husband of Gilda. Dear father of Tracey (Paul) Snell, Michael McFarlane, Todd (Karen) McFarlane and Tim (Karrie) McFarlane (2024). Grandfather of Elyse Snell (Eddy Silva), Brianne Horan (Colton), Brett Snell (2018), Cierra and Mitchell McFarlane and Mairin McFarlane; and great-grandfather of Leo Silva and Lyla Horan. Stepfather of Stephen, Doane and Wendy Lock. Born and raised in Toronto, Dave was the son of Albert and Dorothy (Pryce) McFarlane. He was the fourth of five children and is survived by his sister, Anne Smith. Predeceased by his brother, Alan; and sisters, Lois Bothwell and Maureen Noakes. Throughout his life, Dave took an active interest in sports, either playing or coaching hockey in his earlier years, or golfing later on. Whether he lived in Toronto, Orangeville or Kincardine, Dave enjoyed being involved in his community through service clubs, choir groups, and with the Kincardine Scottish Festival, having chaired the event for several years. Dave was the true definition of humble and kind, sharing his words of wisdom to help someone through a tough time, having experienced his own share of challenges. His gentle spirit will be missed by many. Thank you to Huron Shores Hospice at Tiverton Park Manor for the kind and compassionate care provided to Dave in his final days. Family will receive friends at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, 757 Princes Street, Kincardine, Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 12-1 p.m., with the funeral at 1 p.m., with Rev.
