Ripley Wolves come back to edge Lucknow, 5-4

Though they trailed 4-1 at one point during Saturday night’s game in Lucknow, the Ripley Wolves scored three in the third period for a 5-4 comeback victory.

Lucknow opened the scoring midway through the first period on a powerplay effort by Ben Gowing from Kenny Stanley and Andrew Baker.
Nick Locking tied it for Ripley, from Travis VanGaver and Ryan Armstrong.
The Lancers made it 2-1 on an unassisted goal by Rick Andrew, and then took a commanding 4-2 lead in the second, on goals by Evan Rivett from Jamie Miller and Joel Alton; and by John Chappell from Andrew and Ean Moffat.
However, the Wolves were down, but not out. Jarred Colling added a marker for Ripley late in the second, from Shawn Stewart and Armstrong to cut the Lucknow lead to two goals, heading into the third period.
And the final frame belonged to the Wolves, as they scored three unanswered goals, to edge the Lancers, 5-4.
Seconds into the third, Jeremy McQuillin scored from Brett Catto and Cody Britton. Minutes later, Catto got the tying goal, assisted by Tyler McCarthy and Paul Stewart.
And the game winner for Ripley came with just over three minutes remaining, when Mark Stanley scored from VanGaver and Locking,

The Wolves are in Port Elgin tonight (Tuesday, Dec. 30) for an 8:30 start, and then host Mapleton-Minto on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at 7:30 p.m.
