Barb Grubb cards a 39 in Ainsdale Ladies' League play; senior men's draws 50 players
The ladies at Ainsdale Golf Course just keep getting better.

Barb Grubb is quoted as saying, “I can go back to school now.” She carded a 39 on the front nine, Tuesday, sporting a meagre 13 putts on the way. All the winners of their flights recorded more than 30 Stableford points for the third time this season.

 

The flight winners for Stableford points were:

  • A  Barb Grubb 34.35
  • B  Antoinetta MacDonald 33.24
  • C  Anne Rock 30.01
  • D  Deb Quinn 30.43
  • E  Deborah Brindley 33.69
  • F  Joanna Malott 31.00

 

The low putters by flight were: 

  • A  Barb Grubb 13
  • B  Antoinetta MacDonald 15
  • C  Lesley  MacGregor  16
  • D  Edie Fotheringham 17
  • E  Norie Dickson 17, Jeanette Barnes 21

 

The stroke play Ace of Aces qualifiers for low gross and low net were:  Cathy Chambers 41,  Maureen Peet 39,   Deb Pegg 49,  Una MacDonald 37,   Lesley Hawthorne 51,  Colleen Douglas 38,   Ruth Johnston 59,  Edie Fotheringham 38

 

The sponsored-hole winners for closest to the line were:  Kim Catto,  Pat Emmerton,   Wendy Houghton,  Edie Fotheringham,  Jan Kelly and Joanna Malott.

The long drives were boomed out by Donna Murray,  Laura Haight,  Wendy Houghton,  Janice Gibson,  Darlene Murray and Joanne Wilson. 

The closest-to-the-sprinkler-head was Donna Murray, and the winner of the Dairy Queen blizzard voucher was Kim Catto.


SENIOR MEN'S LEAGUE
 

A hot, humid morning greeted 50 players on the front nine at Ainsdale, for the Senior Men's Scramble, Wednesday.  

After two teams tied for top spot with a minus-four score, the foursome of Steve Saxton, Doug Harris, Mark Ciavaglia and John Curtis, prevailed in a putt-off. 

Closest to the pin winners, were Percy Courtney on No. 3 and John Downs on No. 8.
