More than 100 nativities on display at open house
Heather and Sam Finnie of Kincardine own more than 100 nativity scenes, and put them on display prior to Christmas, at the house at 204 Penetangore Row, Kincardine, which they had just finished renovating.
Heather has been avidly collecting nativities for the past 20 years. She purchased the first one when she and Sam were married 29 years ago.
The nativities have come from a variety of places, including Tanzania, Vancouver, Israel, Nicaragua, England, Northern Ireland and Panama; some were purchased at sales, and in local stores; and many were gifts.
Heather says her favourites are the ones handmade by her children. In fact, one particular favourite is a white ceramic set that the children inadvertently "painted" when they were youngsters, because they thought it needed some colour.
The Nativity Open House was also an opportunity for the Finnies to showcase the house which is for sale. For more information about the house, contact CENTURY 21 at 519-396-2001 or see Realtor.ca
