(GODERICH, ON) – The Huron County OPP has charged a 22-year-old Goderich resident with possession of marijuana, following a traffic stop Dec. 27.
At approximately 9:40 p.m., the driver of a Toyota Echo entered a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) checkpoint located at Gloucester Terrace and North Street. Upon speaking with the driver, officers detected the odour of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.
Subsequent investigation revealed the driver was in possession of marijuana. A search of the driver and vehicle was completed and a quantity of marijuana was located. The driver was later released from the scene on an appearance notice.
22-year-old Benjamin CREASE of Goderich has been charged with Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marijuana. He has a scheduled court appearance Feb. 2 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
