The Kincardine senior ladies' baseball team, Scared Hitless, has donated $750 to the local Special Olympians who are headed to the nationals next year.
The team held three yard sales during the summer to raise these funds, and it was suggested by team member Marg VanderVaart that the donation go to help these athletes travel to Corner Brook, Newfoundland, for the national competition in curling and skating.
VanderVaart made the presentation to Ryan Brodhagen and Jackie McDonald who are on the curling team. McDonald's dad, Jim, is not the coach this time, but travelling as a parent this time. Also on the curling team are Chris Weese and Tyler Jilek.
Rosie Laidler is going to the nationals in figure skating.
Congratulations to the athletes and best of luck at the nationals in Newfoundland!
