​Jon Thompson takes top spot in “A” Flight at men’s night at Ainsdale Golf Course

Jon Thompson took top spot in “A” Flight in the men’s league, Thursday (July 25), at Ainsdale Golf Course, with a net score of 32.

Tied for second, were George MacDonald and Jordan McDonald, with 34; and tied for fourth, were Chad Carruthers, Thorpe Lichtenberg, John McDowell and Jordan Bell, with 35.

“B” Flight – Oliver Pitre, 29; Jared Houghton, 32; Rob Fitzsimmons, 33; tied for fourth, Brendon Collison and Dave Brubaker, 34. Skins winners, were Dwight Irwin, Arno Weissenboeck and Fitzsimmons.

“C” Flight – Tied for first, Greg Yundt, Mark Roppel and Matt Skinner, 32; tied for fourth, Mark Finlayson and Jami Thompson, 34. Skins winners, were Yundt, Roppel and Sean Poisson.

“D” Flight – Ian Trumble, 27; Chris Stam, 31; Riley Cherrett, 32; and tied for fourth, Jim Neitzel, Bob Bull, Darcy Scott, Mitch Twolan and Blair Scott, 33. Skins winners, were Chris Hodgins, Trumble and Richard Emmerton.

There were 148 guys in attendance for steak night. The 50-50 winner was Derek McBride, $74.

The Men’s Club Championship will be held Aug. 24-25. Senior Men’s Club Championship will be held Aug. 10-11. Ages 55-plus are eligible to play in the Senior Men’s Club Championship; must be a member of Ainsdale Golf Course to participate.
