​Movember in September Golf Classic raises $35,000

The fourth annual Movember in September Golf Classic has raised $35,000 for research and awareness into men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

Held Friday afternoon at Ainsdale Golf Course, the event drew 124 golfers who headed out on the greens under a beautiful, sunny sky with a gentle, cooling breeze. Another 20 people joined the group for dinner.

Organizer Todd Thompson was thrilled with the turn-out, and thanked everyone who participated, as well as those who donated money and more than 100 items for the silent and live auctions. He also thanked the 12 volunteers who helped with the event.

Over the past five years, including 2020 when he grew a moustache and accepted donations for Movember, he has raised about $114,000 for the cause.
