​Long-time Ripley school librarian, Debbie McGillivray of Point Clark, dies at the age of 66
Deborah Lee McGillivray (née Trafelet) of Point Clark, died peacefully, with her family at her side, at Huron Shores Hospice, Monday, Nov. 4, 2024, in her 67th year.

Cherished daughter of Joe Trafelet and Laurel Indoe.

Beloved wife of Richard McGillivray for 47 years.

Loving mother of Jamie (Hilary) McGillivray and Reanne (Peter) O’Neil.

Sadly missed by her grandchildren, Spencer and Evan McGillivray, and Rebecca, Andrew and Jason O’Neil.

Remembered always by her siblings, Donna (Jack) Harron and Danny (Lorri) Trafelet; and nieces and nephew, Kelly, Kristy and Mathew McGillivray and Kristy (Tyler) Dadswell.

Also survived by her in-laws, Edward (Janice) McGillivray, Bob (Mary) Emmerton, and Steve (Cathy) Emmerton.

Predeceased by her parents-in-law, Eunice and Wib Emmerton; and brother-in-law, Ken McGillivray.

Debbie volunteered as a librarian for many years at Ripley-Huron Community School. She enjoyed baking, knitting and crocheting.

She made sure everyone had Christmas cookies, mitts, dishcloths and blankets. With three kisses, she will say her goodbyes.

A special thank you to the staff and volunteers at Huron Shores Hospice.

A private service will be held in Point Clark at a later date.
