​Kincardine Record launching new website to celebrate 10th anniversary

The Kincardine Record is celebrating 10 years in business, Dec. 16, and we are launching a new and improved website that day.

We are excited about the refreshed look and the advanced technological capabilities of the new site and look forward to the response from our faithful readers, advertisers, contributors and followers.

The front page features the top story, along with other breaking news, as well as sports, editorials and obituaries – all under the News heading. There are the familiar headings for Announcements, Classifieds, and Real Estate, and a contact page.

The banner ads and dog ear ads remain at the top, while the remaining advertising can be found under the news stories, followed by the municipal ads, weather report, road information, and coming events.

Readers will appreciate the larger, cleaner type, particularly for the Obituaries listing. You will also be able to interact more with the stories, commenting on-line, rather than via E-mail.

The advertisements are larger and you can continue to click on them to check out the websites of the advertisers who support the Kincardine Record.

Also, in celebration of our 10th anniversary, we are holding a contest to see how good our readers’ memories are.

The only locally-owned and locally-operated on-line news source, serving Kincardine, Ripley, Tiverton, Lucknow and the surrounding area, was launched Dec. 16, 2014.

Since then, a lot has happened.

So, we’re asking our readers to send in their list of the Top 10 Stories Over the Past 10 Years. They could be news, sports, features, human interest articles – whatever you believe were the most interesting stories from Dec. 16, 2014, to now.

All those who participate will have their names put into a draw to win a $100 gift card to a local business, as well as a finely-crafted Kincardine Record hat and pen.
