Ripley Wolves continue winning streak after defeating Lucknow Lancers
The Ripley Wolves moved to 12-0 on the season, with a 7-3 win over their cross-township rivals, the Lucknow Lancers, Saturday night at the Ripley Arena.
The spirited affair saw the league's two most-penalized teams rack up numerous fighting majors after a surprising first-period lead for the win-less visitors. The Wolves then scored five powerplay goals in the second frame to gain a lead they wouldn't relinquish.
Wolves goals were scored by Jarred Colling, Taylor Woolcott, Garrett Meurs, Alex Kuntz, Brett Catto, Dawson Fahrer, and Gerrit Satosek. Assists went to Pat Looby (2), Todd Hellyer (2), Meurs (2), Kuntz (2), Drew Davidson, Satosek, Colling, and Woolcott.
Goaltender Derick Mitchell got the win in his first start for the Wolves.
Ripley heads over to Lucknow, Saturday, Dec. 28, for a 7:30 p.m. puck drop.
