Kincardine Bulldogs edge Wingham, 3-2; Monday’s game postponed to Tuesday
The Kincardine Bulldogs edged the Wingham Ironmen, 3-2, Saturday night, and were supposed to face the Goderich Flyers, Monday afternoon, but due to poor weather and road conditions, that game has been postponed to Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 9 p.m., at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.
Saturday night, in Kincardine, the Bulldogs opened the scoring midway in the first period, on a goal by Caeleb Bowler from Bryce Martin and Jordan Beisel.
A minute later, the ‘Dogs made it a 2-0 game, after Dustin Heipel scored from Wilson Shipp and Jordan Moulton.
Wingham roared back in the second frame, to tie it up, 2-2.
But Kincardine’s newly-signed player, Madden Steen, scored early in the third, from Trent Houghton and Callum Snedden, to give the Bulldogs the 3-2 win.
Kincardine goalie Rowen Cherrett made 36 saves on 38 shots.
The Bulldogs wrap up the regular season with the game against Goderich, tomorrow night (Feb. 18), at 9 p.m., at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.
Playoffs begin Friday, Feb. 21, with the ‘Dogs taking on the Wingham Ironmen in the Pollock Division quarter-finals.
