Bulldogs down Walkerton, 6-1, in PJHL exhibition action
The Kincardine Bulldogs of the Provincial Junior Hockey League (PJHL) notched a 6-1 victory over the Walkerton Capitals, during exhibition action, Tuesday night, at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.
The Capitals scored their loan goal midway through the opening period, but minutes later, Zasha Ortman tied it up for the Bulldogs, scoring from Tristan Stevens and Dawson Marshall.
Ortman gave the ‘Dogs a 2-1 lead, partway through the second, from Caeleb Bowler and Stevens; and minutes later, Bowler made that a 3-1 game, scoring from Maddox Burgess.
The Bulldogs added three more goals in the third to take the 6-1 win. Scorers were Cade Moffat, Jack Farley and Wyatt Thomas, with assists to Bryce Martin, Blake Hellyer, Stevens, Tyler Wagler and Jared Houghton.
Kincardine goalie Cole Stevens made 15 saves on 16 shots, while fellow goalie, Madden Walden, made five saves on five shots.
The ‘Dogs continue in exhibition play, Sept. 5 in Walkerton, at 7:30 p.m.
The season home opener is Saturday, Sept. 13, at 7:30 p.m. against Wingham, followed by a match against Hanover, Sunday, Sept. 14, at 4 p.m. also at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.
The ‘Dogs are home to Walkerton, Friday, Sept. 19, at 8:30 p.m.; home to Fergus, Friday, Sept. 26, at 8:30 p.m.; and travel to Mitchell, Sunday, Sept. 28, at 4:30 p.m.
