Bervie W.I. celebrates Christmas with a potluck lunch
The Bervie Women’s Institute met Wednesday morning at the Bervie United Church. President Bev Berndt opened with the usual openings. She read Christmas poems, entitled “They have Seen a Great Light” and “Spirit of the Season.”

Roll Call was answered by eight members with a “Christmas Memory.” Some included getting the tree, baking, spending time with grandparents or just getting to where you want to be.

Secretary Betty Jean White read the minutes of the last meeting. Correspondence was read. Sandra MacDonald presented  the financial report in the absence of treasurer Islay Eby, and the Sunshine Report. Donations were made to the Kincardine Food Bank. Ellen Waye has helped to look after the Tweedsmuir books.

Convener Janice Hewitt began her program with a Christmas Carol Quiz. Members then joined in a Christmas Carol Sing. Grace was sung and members enjoyed a tasty potluck lunch, followed by a social time.

The meeting closed with the  Royal Anthem.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to All!
