Ripley Wolves beat defending champs for second straight weekend
The Ripley Wolves had another convincing win over the defending champions, the Minto 81s, Saturday night, at the Ripley Arena.
Trailing 1-0 after one period, the Wolves scored five unanswered over the next two periods on their way to a comfortable 5-2 win on home ice.
Cody Britton scored twice while Garrett Meurs, Carter Servais and Ethan Skinner added singles. Assists went to Britton (2), Meurs (2), Servais (2), Tyson Soers, Logan Swanton, Kaden Hoggarth, and Skinner.
Goalie Jason Hamilton was strong in the Wolves net, particularly in the first period when he stopped 13 shots, on his way to the win.
The Wolves will spend the next two weeks on the road in Georgian Bay (Dec. 13), Saugeen Shores (Dec. 19), and Lucknow (Dec. 20), before hosting their cross-township rivals, Dec. 27 at 7 p.m.
