Adult skaters increase confidence, abilities on ice at classes in Ripley
From October through to December, the Ripley-Huron Skating Club has held an adult skating class.
Eight enthusiastic adults, ranging in ages and skating skills, have been instructed by Brenda Hill-McIntosh.
Some are there to improve their skating skills for hockey, while others with figure skates are increasing their skills on inside and outside edges, three turns and spins.
Participants agreed that the eight weeks of lessons had increased both confidence and new abilities on the ice.
One skater said that Hill-McIntosh is an amazing skater and instructor. She assesses the skaters’ abilities and adjusts teaching to each individual’s level.
The class continues in January 2026. Anyone interested can register for the eight-week winter session on the skating club’s website at
