​More than 40 teams to compete at Kincardine Silver Stick Regional
A total of 44 teams will converge on the arenas in Kincardine, Ripley and Tiverton, for the annual Kincardine Silver Stick Regional Tournament which begins Saturday (Dec. 27) and runs through to Tuesday (Dec. 30).

The event committee welcomes 14 teams in the Under-13 (U13) “B” Tier 2 division, including the newly-formed West Coast Whitecaps which includes players from Kincardine, Ripley, Lucknow and Wingham; and 12 teams in the U13 House League and Local League division, including the Kincardine Kinucks and the Huron-Bruce Blizzard.

Also competing, are seven teams in the U15 “B” Tier 2 division, including the West Coast Whitecaps; and 11 teams in the U15 House League and Local League division, including two Kincardine Kinucks teams.

The U15 Kinucks take on the South Bruce Blades in the opening game of the tournament, set for Saturday at 10 a.m., at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine. Most of the U15 games will be at the Davidson Centre.

The U13 House League and Local League games are slated for the Ripley-Huron Community Centre, while several U13 "B" Tier 2 games and U15 House League and Local League games will be played at the Tiverton Sports Centre.

The official opening of the event is scheduled for Saturday at 6:45 p.m., at the Davidson Centre.

Monday morning (Dec. 29), the quarter-finals begin, followed with the start of the semi-finals, Monday evening.

The championship finals will run Tuesday (Dec. 30), beginning at 1 p.m., at the Davidson Centre.
