Kincardine Bulldogs post two wins, two losses in junior hockey action
The Kincardine Bulldogs have posted two wins and two losses in the past two weeks in Provincial Junior Hockey League (PJHL) action.
Friday, Dec. 12, the 'Dogs travelled to Walkerton and doubled the Capitals 8-4.
Zasha Ortman led the scoring for the Bulldogs, with four goals, while Nathan Lavender added two, and singles came from Cole Lewis and Jackson Hayward-Nelson.
Assists went to Lewis (2), Nathan Arnold, Tyler Wagler (2), Bryce Martin (2), Dawson Marshall, Caeleb Bowler (3), Blake Hellyer, Jared Houghton, and Hayward-Nelson.
Bulldogs goalie Blake Beitz made 31 saves on 35 shots. Kincardine had 45 shots on goal, while Walkerton had 35.
Saturday, Dec. 13, the 'Dogs travelled to Wingham and lost a close 5-3 game to the Ironmen.
Kincardine goal-scorers, were Ortman, Martin, and Leland Weber, with assists to Wagler, and Ty McQuillin.
Bulldogs goalie William Belitski made 27 saves on 32 shots.
Wednesday, Dec. 17, the 'Dogs travelled to Hanover and suffered another loss, 4-1, at the hands of the Barons.
Scoring the lone goal for Kincardine, was Hayward-Nelson from Carson Stutzman and Bowler.
The 'Dogs had 31 shots on goal, while Hanover had 52. Beitz made 48 saves on those 52 shots.
And finally, Kincardine travelled to Mitchell, Sunday, Dec. 21, and edged the Hawks, 4-3.
The 'Dogs opened the scoring early in the first period when Ortman scored from Chad Lawrence. Ten minutes later, Weber scored from Cade Moffat and Wagler, to make it 2-0 for Kincardine. And in the dying seconds of the period, Wagler scored from Houghton and Bowler, to give the Bulldogs a commanding 3-0 lead.
Martin made it 4-0 for Kincardine, with his unassisted marker in the second frame.
Mitchell managed to score three in the third period, but couldn't get the tying goal, giving Kincardine the 4-3 win.
Kincardine goalie Rowen Cherrett made 36 saves on 39 shots.
The Bulldogs are back on home ice in the new year, playing Hanover, Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026, at 7:30 p.m., at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.
