Kincardine Silver Stick set to continue Friday, Jan. 2
The Kincardine Regional Silver Stick Tournament, postponed Tuesday due to the snowstorm that blew in Monday afternoon, is set to continue Friday, Jan. 2, 2026.
The tournament began Saturday at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine, as well as the arenas in Ripley and Tiverton, and continued through Sunday and Monday, with the championship finals scheduled for Tuesday.
However, due to the ongoing snowstorm and closure of roads, the tournament committee decided to postpone the rest of the tournament and worked with Silver Stick International to find alternatives to complete the event.
The remaining games have been re-scheduled to Friday in hopes the weather co-operates, as the championship teams are set to advance to the International Silver Stick finals in Forest and Pelham next month.

In one of the Monday afternoon games, the U15 West Coast Whitecaps (local rep team) took on the Midwest 49ers but lost, 4-0. See photos of the game in the gallery below.
Meanwhile, highways and county roads in the Kincardine area remained closed Tuesday, with programs cancelled, and offices and businesses closed, including the Davidson Centre in Kincardine and the Ripley-Huron Community Centre.
As of 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Highway 21, from Port Elgin to Goderich, remains closed, as do Highway 9, from Kincardine to Walkerton; Bruce County Road 1, from Highway 9 to Lucknow; and Bruce County Road 7, from Bruce County Road 86 to Highway 9, due to poor driving conditions.
Bruce County Road 23 (the B-line), from Lorne Beach Road to Bruce County Road 15, has been re-opened.
For those who decide to travel, keep your headlights and tail-lights on and clear of snow and do not drive on a closed road.
Remember to keep your speed down. “If you see snow, go slow.”
