Kincardine Bulldogs split games on weekend in PJHL action
The Kincardine Bulldogs lost one game but won the next, in Provincial Junior Hockey League action on the weekend.
The 'Dogs travelled to Hanover, Friday night, and were shut-out by the Barons, 5-0.
Kincardine had 28 shots on goal, compared to Hanover's 55.
Bulldogs goalie Rowen Cherrett made 50 saves on those 55 shots.
Back at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine, Saturday night, the 'Dogs took on the Wingham Ironmen, and won, 4-2.
The Bulldogs opened the scoring midway through the first period, on a goal by Caeleb Bowler from Jared Houghton and Cole Lewis. Minutes later, Bowler added another, again assisted by Houghton and Lewis, to make it 2-0 for Kincardine.
Early in the second frame, Wyatt Thomas scored from Jackson Hayward-Nelson and Cade Moffat; and Lewis scored from Zasha Ortman, to give the 'Dogs a commanding 4-0 lead.
However, the Ironmen fired in a couple of shots in the third period, to end the game 4-2 for Kincardine.
Cherrett made 37 saves on 39 shots in the Bulldogs net.
Kincardine has two home games next weekend: Friday, Jan. 16, against Mitchell at 8:30 p.m.; and Saturday, Jan. 17, against Walkerton at 7:30 p.m.
