Ripley Wolves win two big games on the weekend
The Ripley Wolves notched two big wins on the weekend, beating the Durham Thundercats and the Shelburne Muskies.
Friday night at the Ripley Arena, the Wolves won a thriller, between two of the top teams in the Ontario Elite Hockey League (OEHL), with Carter Servais scoring the game-winning goal, his second of the game, with 32 seconds remaining, and Jarred Colling adding an empty-netter to defeat the Thundercats, 6-4.
The other goals were scored by Cody Britton, Garrett Meurs and Gerrit Satosek. Britton's goal was the 500th point in his illustrious career for the Ripley Wolves. Congratulations, Cody!
Assists went to Ethan Skinner (2), Meurs (3), Servais, Derek Skinner, and Dawson Fahrer.
Ripley goalie Garrett Golley had the start and stopped 35 of 39 shots for the win.
Saturday night in Ripley, the Wolves handily defeated the Muskies, 7-0.
Goal-scorers for the Wolves were Meurs (2), Christian Monachino (2), Servais, Colling, and Wilson Shipp with his first goal for the Ripley Wolves.
Goalie Jason Hamilton added yet another shut-out, stopping all 15 shots he faced, for the win.
The Wolves travel to Durham, Saturday, Jan. 24, for their final game of the regular season as they look to clinch first place overall in the OEHL standings.
