Sherry Parsons of Newfoundland, formerly of Kincardine, dies at the age of 60
Charlotte Anne “Sherry” Parsons of Gambo, Newfoundland, formerly of Kincardine, died peacefully Jan. 22, 2026, surrounded by loved ones, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 60.
She died at the Lionel Kelland Hospice in Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland, a place that cared for her with compassion and dignity in her final days.
Left to mourn, with broken hearts, but deep gratitude for her life, are her loving husband, Alpheause “Alley” Parsons; her sons, Alexander (Christine) of Gander, and Andrew, of Gambo; her daughter, Ashlee (Richard) of Gambo; her stepson, Correy (Donna) of Gambo; and her stepdaughter, Kimberly (Chris) of Lloydminster, Alberta.
Lovingly remembered by her sister, Shelly; brothers, Roddy, Danny, and Joey; and her eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her endless joy.
Predeceased by her mother, Charlotte, and her father, Joe Williams.
Sherry was the best Nannie, and nothing made her happier than the laughter and smiles of children. Her life was defined by service to others. She devoted countless hours to volunteer work with the Lions Club, Fun N Sun, and many other community initiatives and committees. Her heart was always focused on helping children thrive.
An entrepreneur at heart, she ran a home preschool program for many years where she nurtured, taught, and cared for countless children — treating them all as if they were her own. Her impact will live on through the many lives she touched with her kindness, patience, and love.
Sherry will be remembered for her generosity, her tireless dedication to her community, her infectious smile, and the warmth she brought to everyone who knew her. She had a special gift for turning ordinary moments into celebrations, always making even the smallest occasions feel like something special. She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and family that will never be forgotten.
The funeral will be held at the Gambo Salvation Army Church, Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026, at 2:30 p.m., with a luncheon to follow.
As per Sherry’s wishes, the family intends to hold a celebration of life later in the year at the Gambo Lions Club.
