Dorrell Young Christmas Program supports hundreds of families
Bruce County’s human services department has announced the success of the 29th annual Dorrell Young Christmas Program, a cherished tradition that brings joy to families across the community during the holiday season.
“Thanks to the incredible generosity of local residents, businesses and community groups, 530 children, teens and their families experienced the warmth and kindness of the holidays this year,” said Tina Metcalfe, director of human services.
The program relies on donations of unwrapped gifts and financial contributions, and once again, the community stepped up in a big way, raising $36,902 in cash donations, alongside hundreds of gifts.
This year’s program was supported by more than 133 unique sponsors, donors and organizations across the community.
