​Kincardine Bulldogs lose two close games in overtime on the weekend
The Kincardine Bulldogs lost to Wingham and Mount Forest, both by a 3-2 score in overtime, in Provincial Junior Hockey League action on the weekend.

The 'Dogs hosted the Wingham Ironmen at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine, Saturday night.

Kincardine opened the scoring late in the first period when Owen Shore scored from Cole Lewis Austin Griffin.

Wingham tied it up in the middle frame, but Shore added his second of the game early in the third, to give the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead.

The Ironmen scored the tying goal late in the third to send the game into overtime, and Wingham scored to take the 3-2 win.

Kincardine goalie Rowen Cherrett made 30 saves on 33 shots.

In Mount Forest, Sunday afternoon, the Patriots opened the scoring in the second period, firing in two shots before Shore scored for Kincardine, from Lewis and Caeleb Bowler to take a 2-1 game into the final frame.

Late in the third, Zasha Ortman scored the tying goal, from Shore and Griffin, to send the game into overtime, and Mount Forest scored to take the 3-2 win.

Cherrett made 36 saves on 39 shots in net for Kincardine.

The Bulldogs are in Walkerton, Friday, Jan. 30, for a 7:30 p.m. game, and back at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine, Saturday, Jan. 31, at 2:30 p.m., to take on Mount Forest.
