Kincardine partnering with Bruce County to launch Spruce the Bruce program
The Municipality of Kincardine is partnering with Bruce County to launch the
Spruce the Bruce program, Feb. 2.
Spruce the Bruce provides grant funding to help strengthen communities, as well as maintain and enhance downtown businesses. Eligible business and property owners may learn more and apply at

Kincardine council approved utilizing $20,000 in funding from the Community Improvement Program to support the Spruce the Bruce program, making it possible for business owners to apply for grants to enhance exterior facades, create new signage, install awnings or patios, and make accessibility improvements.
“Supporting our downtown businesses is critical for creating vibrant communities,” said mayor Kenneth Craig. "It is more than just boosting our local economy — it's about preserving the heart of our community. These businesses create jobs, foster connections, and give our downtown its unique character and charm.”
Bruce County offers funding up to 50 per cent of eligible costs (excluding taxes, and subject to a maximum per grant). Past recipients of
Spruce the Bruce funding may be eligible for additional support for new project elements. The program is in high-demand each year, and there’s strong recommendation to submit applications early, since funding approvals are on a first-come, first-serve basis for complete applications.
“The Bruce County economic development department is excited to partner with the Municipality of Kincardine to support businesses and organizations to help revitalize properties and build vibrant communities through Spruce the Bruce,” said county economic development manager Heather Hyde. “These resources support the growth of our communities and public experiences in Bruce County.”
