Fred Wiggermann, formerly of Ripley, remembered for his kindness and wonderful sense of humour
Friedrich "Fred" Wiggermann, formerly of Ripley, died peacefully, Jan. 28, 2026, at the age of 70.

Devoted husband of Roswitha “Rose” Wiggermann for 49 years.

Cherished always by his children, Sven, Claude (Sarah), and Julia (Jai).
Incredibly missed by his grandchildren, Logan, Adele, and Brody, who knew him best by his favourite title — Opa.

Fred had a deep love for his family, boating, scuba-diving and travelling the world. He spent many years proudly dedicated to his work on wind turbines.

In his retirement, he enjoyed several fulfilling years in the Dominican Republic, soaking up sunshine and saltwater.

Known for his patience, kindness, and wonderful sense of humour, Fred was always quick to lend a hand and help others whenever he could. He will be fondly remembered by his family and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital in Goderich for the compassionate and wonderful care Fred received while there.

As expressions of sympathy, please feel free to make a donation in Fred’s honour to Autism Ontario or the Kincardine Fish Hatchery.

Following Fred’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held in the spring; arrangements entrusted to the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Ripley.
