Kincardine Legion news
The Legion has retired the
Catch the Ace draw and is working with the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation on a 50/50 lottery in support of the Kincardine Hospital redevelopment project. The
Kin Cares 50/50 draw should be up and running in the spring. The Legion also presented a $30,000 donation to the foundation, using proceeds from the most recent Catch the Ace draw.
At the
Saturday Meat Draw, we had our first triple-dipper of 2026, and it was Charlie Samms. Elmer just won one prize, and he was not jealous of Charlie’s three wins at all. Jane Bonnett won a meat prize and then went on to win the 50/50 draw, taking home a nice cash prize of $250.
As the
Legion celebrates 100 years of service in 2026, branches across the country are marking the occasion with special events, new initiatives, and opportunities to connect with the community. At Branch 183, we’re hosting a
Meet and Greet for new members, Saturday, Feb. 21, from 1-2:30 p.m. It’s a casual chance to explore the Legion, meet our executive, and ask questions about membership or getting involved. Stick around afterwards for Saturday Meat Draw at 2:30 p.m. In honour of the Centenary, anyone who has never been a Legion member can join for free this year. If you’ve been curious, this is a great time to jump in. Join on-line, stop by the branch, or reach out to Kim at
05-183@legion.ca. We look forward to meeting you. Stay tuned for more information about this event.
Looking ahead to the next two
Thursday Night Bingo menus, Feb. 5 will be Beef on a Bun, followed by Pulled Pork and Coleslaw, Feb. 12.
We’ve talked about it the past few weeks, but want to remind everyone about the two events that we will be hosting, both of which have tickets currently on sale.
Saturday, March 14, we are having a St. Paddy’s Day Celebration with a Dinner and Dance at the Legion. Tickets are only $20 each, which includes the dancing and the music! Doors open at 5 p.m., with the dinner running from 5-7:30 p.m. The music will run from 7-11 p.m. and features Left Turn Clyde. The dinner menu will be a choice of Irish Stew or Shepherd’s Pie with a dessert of Bailey’s cheesecake or Guinness chocolate cake. Bring some extra cash if you want to get in on the 50/50 draw that night.
The Mudmen will be at Branch 183, Saturday, April 25. Tickets for this event are already on sale at the Legion Bar, and are $35 each. Doors will open at 7 p.m., and the band will take the stage at 8 p.m. There might be some bagpipes.
