Ripley Wolves fall in Game 6 of OEHL final
The Ripley Wolves won't be lifting the Ontario Elite Hockey League (OEHL) championship trophy in 2026.
After forcing Game 6 with an overtime win at home, Saturday night, the Wolves fell, 5-3, to the Seaforth Centenaires, Sunday night, losing the wildly-entertaining series, 4-2.
In Game 6, the Wolves led, 3-2, with six minutes remaining in the third period as they looked to force a Game 7, but the ever-dangerous Centenaires tied it on the powerplay, went ahead shortly after, and sealed it with an empty-netter.
Wolves goals were scored by Dan Nicoloff from J.D. Falconer and Pat Looby, while Garrett Meurs and Ethan Skinner both scored unassisted.
Goalie Jason Hamilton was strong in the Wolves net, stopping 28 of 32 shots in the loss.
In Game 5, Saturday night, Falconer was the overtime hero in a 3-2 Wolves win.
Matt Murray and Meurs also scored for the Wolves, while assists went to Logan Swanton, Kaden Hoggarth, Jordan Moulton and Carter Servais.
Hamilton stopped 37 of 39 shots for the win.
The
Ripley Wolves executive committee thanks the players, coaches, management, training staff and game-day volunteers for their dedication this season.
