"Through this experience, I have been able to develop practical and essential skills, as well as learn more about the incredibly important work that this agency does. Working with the dedicated staff and engaging with the individuals we support, has helped me to better understand the importance of community support and services.

"Throughout my time with Community Living of Kincardine and District this semester, I had the opportunity to work within several of the different programs the agency operates. Each of these provided important insight into the different roles and how they all come together as an organization to support individuals in our community.

"In the Supported Independent Living program, I gained valuable experience supporting individuals in their everyday lives and with their overall independence. I also learned first-hand how the Community Participation Supports and Services program works to support individuals in participating in community events they are interested in.

"Additionally, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work within both of Community Living’s housing programs within Kincardine. I am grateful that I was able to meet and work with many of the wonderful people that this agency supports.

"This experience has left such an important, lasting impact on me. Beyond professional skills, I have gained a confidence I did not have before. I am grateful for the guidance and leadership of the many staff members I was fortunate to work with and sincerely thank them for the wonderful and important work they do every day.

"While I will surely miss working with the amazing people that Community Living supports every day, I look forward to pursuing my future goals. I am thankful for the encouragement and advice I have received throughout this semester and will carry it with me into the future."
