​Kincardine Hospital Auxiliary receives almost $5,000 through Art/Easel fund-raiser

The South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Kincardine Hospital Auxiliary has received a cheque for $4,737.53, proceeds from the Art/Easel fund-raising program for 2025. Funding Innovation representative Adam Kooistra was at Sobeys Kincardine, Friday (May 8), to make the presentation.

The auxiliary first partnered with Funding Innovation in 2016 and has received an amazing total of $54,333.38 over the past 10 years. The auxiliary is extremely grateful for this fund-raising opportunity, and appreciates Sobeys, Rona, Boston Pizza, Canadian Tire and the Kincardine Hospital for permitting the display of prints at their locations.

Thanks to the community for its support in purchasing the prints and to the media for posting the print information. The money raised helps the auxiliary purchase new equipment for the Kincardine Hospital.

The first print at Sobeys is entitled, "Montreal Canadiens." The print features a picture of the 1993 Stanley Cup Champions as well as the scoresheet from the win over the Los Angeles Kings. This officially-licensed print by the NHL also displays a gold-plated alumni coin.

The second print at Sobeys is entitled, "The Canoe," by Canadian artist Tom Thomson. This print depicts a canoe along the shoreline of a lake, likely in Algonquin. Thomson's oil prints consisted almost entirely of landscapes showcasing trees, skies, lakes and rivers.

The print at the Kincardine Hospital is entitled, “The Beatles Abbey Road."

The print at Rona Kincardine is entitled, “Ozzy Osbourne.”

The print at Boston Pizza in Kincardine is entitled, “Unbroken," by Lisa Dearing.

The print at Canadian Tire in Kincardine is entitled, “Triple Black Cats," by folk artist Maud Lewis.

The starting bid for each print is $215, and they are on display until Thursday, May 28.
