Three individuals interested in filling vacant seat on Kincardine council

Three people have put their names forward to fill the vacant councillor-at-large seat on Kincardine council.

The vacancy was the result of councillor Mike Hinchberger being appointed deputy mayor after Andrea Clarke resigned that position April 13.

Carol Blake, William J. McKeeman, and Jason Munro have indicated they are interested in the job and will address council at a special meeting, Wednesday, June 3, beginning at 5 p.m., in the council chamber.

Each candidate will have up to 10 minutes to speak and then the mayor will call for nominations from members of council.

Once nominations have closed, the mayor will call for a motion to adopt the slate of nominations, followed by the vote, after which the new council member will be appointed and sign the declaration of office.
