The Ripley Ravens Theatre Club is bringing the magic of Disney's "Aladdin Kids" to the stage at Ripley-Huron Community School.
It's a colourful, high-energy show that will have you singing along to your favourite tunes in this familiar and well-loved story about the street-rat Aladdin who falls in love with Princess Jasmine and, with help from the Genie, becomes a Prince.
The singing and dancing are stellar, thanks to director Mackenzie Burgess, choreographer Courtney Nelson and their crew.
And while the lead roles are all exemplary, the stand-outs are the villain, Jafar, played by Cullen Reid, and the bright-blue Genie, played by Walden Elliott.
Joining them, are Gaige Kempton as Aladdin, Liv Piel as Jasmine, Grady Little as Iago, Tyler Freer as the Sultan, Adelaide Kloosterboer as the Magic Carpet, Caryss Dewar as the Lamp Vendor, Slade Caslick as the Head Guard, and Carter Colling as the Tiger Cave.
The rest of the cast includes the guards, prisoners, junior dijin and the people at the marketplace.
There are three community performances of this show: Wednesday, June 3, at 6:30 p.m., and Thursday, June 4, at 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the show. You must book and pick up your tickets through the office at 519-395-2651 or by text at 519-375-1856. Donations are welcome at the door.
The School Community Council will be running a concession stand during the performances.
