Haight, McBride post best scores for Ainsdale ladies; senior men's results

The Dawg Days of Summer have finally arrived, so Laura Haight and Barb McBride decided to strut their stuff with season best scores Tuesday in the Ainsdale ladies' league.

 

The flight winners for Stableford points were:
 

  • A  Maureen Peet 36
  • B  Laura Haight 40
  • C  Anne Burton 35
  • D  Diane Small 35
  • E  Barb McBride 46

 

The low putters by flight were:
 

  • A  Sharon MacDonald  15
  • B  Wendy Gardner  14
  • C  Janice Matchett  15
  • D  Heather Struthers  15
  • E  Sandy Black  18

 

The Ace of Aces qualifiers by flight for gross and net were:
 

  • A  Barb Grubb and Sharon MacDonald
  • B  Nancy Stewart and Debbie Catto
  • C  Colleen Douglas and Janice Matchett
  • D  Heather Struthers and Lesley MacGregor
  • E  Barb McBride and Gail MacIntosh

 

The sponsored-hole winners for closest to the line were:  Barb Grubb,  Deb Catto,  Pat Emmerton,  Robin Ballantyne,  Joanna Malott.

The long drives were boomed out by Sharon MacDonald,  Nancy Stewart,  Wendy Houghton,  Robin Ballantyne,  Barb McBride.
 

The longest putt was recorded by Anne Rock, while the closest to the sprinkler head was Bev Yundt, and 22 ladies won a free Dairy Queen Blizzard for their efforts.


SENIOR MEN'S LEAGUE
 

A good turn-out of 56 players enjoyed the Senior Men’s scramble at Ainsdale July 6, with the team of Ron McDonald, John Downs, Ken Bresee and Ross Klopp leading the field with a minus-three score on the front nine. 

Closest to the pin winners were John Kuyvenhoven on No. 3 and Steve MacEachern on No. 8.
