Bulldogs notch two wins on the weekend in Provincial Junior Hockey League

The Kincardine Nicol Insurance Bulldogs notched two wins in Provincial Junior Hockey League action on the weekend.

The 'Dogs edged Mount Forest, 4-3, in overtime, Friday night at the Davidson Centre.

Mount Forest took a two-goal lead in the first, but Keegan McLelland of the Bulldogs fired in a shot midway in the second period, assisted by Hunter Robins-Gibbons, to make it a 2-1 game.

Jordan Van Haelemeesch evened things up for the 'Dogs early in the third, assisted by Brady Richards and Keegan Angel.

Midway in the final frame Mount Forest went ahead 3-2, but Angel scored for the 'Dogs, from Mike Osadca, to finish regulation time with a 3-3 tie.

Three minutes into the overtime period, Brett Burrows scored from Dalton Hnatko, to give Kincardine the 4-3 win.

Saturday night in Goderich, the Bulldogs grounded the Flyers, 5-3.

Kincardine took a two-goal lead in the first on a shot by Will Rickerby from Robins-Gibbons and Burrows; and a powerplay marker by Osadca from Logan Swanton and Angel.

Goderich scored midway in the second, but minutes later, the 'Dogs regained the two-goal lead on a goal by Robert White from Tyler Fregona and McLelland.

Goderich tried to make a comeback with two goals in the third, but the Bulldogs fired in two of their own to take the 5-3 win. White scored from Fregona and Richards; and Angel had a powerplay goal, assisted by Burrows and Osadca.

The 'Dogs are at home to the Wingham Ironmen, Friday, Oct. 14 (tomorrow night), at 8:30 p.m., at the Davidson Centre; and travel to Mount Forest, Saturday night, for an 8 p.m. game.
