KDSS senior girls basketball team wins BAA championship
The Kincardine District Secondary School senior girls basketball team has won the Bluewater Athletics Association (BAA) championship.
The girls wrapped up an undefeated regular season with a convincing 53-13 win over John Diefenbaker Secondary School, Hanover, and easily finished first in the Southern Division, averaging 45.3 points for, and 12.5 points against, in league play.
The seniors then took on Owen Sound District Secondary School in the BAA semi-finals, Friday afternoon at KDSS, and won, 48-23, to advance to the finals.
In the final, KDSS faced Grey Highlands, and and won handily, 68-20, to win the BAA championship.
The senior girls now advance to the CWOSSA championships Friday, Nov. 18.
Meanwhile, the KDSS junior girls basketball team finished the regular season strong, with a 40-20 victory over JDSS of Hanover.
The girls went on to face Sacred Heart High School in Walkerton, Wednesday, and could not overcome poor shooting, losing in the quarter-finals.
