Bulldogs tie semi-final series against Wingham
The Nicol Insurance Kincardine Junior "C" Bulldogs have tied their semi-final series against Wingham, 1-1.
After being trounced by the Ironmen, 7-0, in Game 1, Sunday in Wingham, the 'Dogs took a 5-2 win on home ice, Monday afternoon.
Game 2 at the Davidson Centre began with a scoreless first period.
Kincardine opened the scoring seconds into the middle frame, as Jordan Bell scored from Patrick Wiejak. Less than a minute later, Shawn Moore made it 2-0 for the 'Dogs, assisted by Gerrit Satosek.
Late in the period, the Ironmen worked the powerplay and scored, but Mike Osadca then scored from Moore and Chad Simpson to make it 3-1 for the 'Dogs heading into the final frame.
Seconds into the third, Sam Feagan scored on the powerplay, from Alex Labrosse, to give Kincardine a significant 4-1 lead over the league-leading Ironmen.
Jordan Van Haelemeesch added another powerplay goal, from Chad Simpson and Mike Smailes to make it a 5-1 game, before Wingham managed another marker late in the period, giving Kincardine the 5-2 victory.
Game 3 runs Friday, Feb. 20, at 8 p.m., in Wingham, with Game 4 back at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine, Saturday, Feb. 21, at 6:30 p.m.
Game 5 is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 8:15 p.m. in Wingham, with Game 6 slated for Friday, Feb. 27 at 8:30 p.m. at the Davidson Centre, and Game 7 set for Saturday, Feb. 28, at 8 p.m. in Wingham.
