Montgomery Ford Midget girls take two wins in playdowns

The Kincardine Montgomery Ford Midget girls notched two wins in playdowns this past week, managing to squeeze in two games among all the cold weather and road closures lately.

Sunday night, the Kinucks travelled to Durham and defeated the West Grey Warriors, 4-1, in the first game of their playdowns.
The Ford girls got off to a slow, cold start and it was 1-1 after the first period. The Kinucks took a 2-1 lead in the second, and then came out strong in the third, with two more goals, the final one being an empty-netter, for the 4-1 victory.

Wednesday night in Tiverton, the girls played Owen Sound and certainly had their sticks going, taking a polite 10-0 win for their second game in the series.

The Kinucks will play TCDMHA Wednesday, and then Saugeen Shores Thursday.

Scoring goals in the past two games were: Kelsey Padfield -1, Lara Clubb - 1, Rainor Kuz - 1, Jorie Elliott - 2, Eden McFarlane - 2, Alice Thorpe - 2, Ashley McConnell - 5.
