KDSS swim team competes at CWOSSA meet

Wednesday, the Kincardine District Secondary School swim team travelled to the Wilmot Recreation Complex in Baden for the CWOSSA 2017 Swim Meet.  

The Junior IM 200-metre high school medley relay team of Maia Hinchberger, Jenna Row, Emma Woodhall and Abbey McCormick, placed seventh and shaved seconds off of its season best.

The Senior IM 200-metre open relay team of Avery Fitzgerald, Lauren Andrews, Tori Hodgins and Ari Luinstra, also shaved seconds off its season time for its best performance to date.

KDSS had two top-10 finishes in the individual events:
 

• Avery Fitzgerald burned up the lane with a ninth-place finish in the Open 100-metre backstroke
• Jenna Row left it all in the pool and finished ninth in the Junior high school girls 50-metre breaststroke

The third individual swimmer to qualify for CWOSSA, Lauren Andrews, competed in the Open 100-metre breaststroke and had a respectable 19th place.  

Avery Fitzgerald and Lauren Andrews finish their high school swimming careers on a high note, as they both had personal bests in their individual events in the last two meets of the season - Lauren at the University of Guelph in her breaststroke and Avery at CWOSSA in the backstroke.
