Charity hockey game raises $2,000 for Kincardine Minor Hockey
The Tundra Taters managed to defeat the Bruce Power Nighthawks, 11-9, but it was the Kincardine Minor Hockey Association that won in the end, as the Taters donated $2,000 to minor hockey.
The charity hockey game was held Thursday night at the Davidson Centre, Kincardine, as the Tundra team is on a tour to raise awareness and funds for minor hockey in Canada.
Joining the Taters, were former Toronto Maple Leafs player, Rick Vaive, the first 50-goal-scorer in the franchise history; and Kincardine's own Kendra Fisher, goaltender for the Canadian women's in-line hockey team and founder of mentallyfit.
The Taters, backed by Tundra Technical Solutions of Toronto, donated $2,000 ($100 per goal) to Kincardine minor hockey, ear-marked for programs that support families in need.
Tundra Technical Solutions is a supplier for Bruce Power, providing innovative staffing solutions and services.
