Ripley Raven girls win regional basketball tournament
The Ripley Ravens girls basketball team won the championship banner at the South West Regional basketball tournament held Wednesday at Kincardine District Secondary School.
In the first game, Ripley defeated Lucknow, 33-20, in a hard-fought battle. The Ravens won their next game against Elgin Market, 39-6, and faced Huron Heights in the final game.
The Ravens’ defence, passing and accurate shooting proved to be too much for Huron Heights to handle, as Ripley dominated play, winning the game, 33-15, and the championship.
Ripley moves on to the Bluewater finals slated for April 11 in Flesherton.
