Madelyn Eybergen of Kincardine District Secondary School had a great performance at the CWOSSA track and field championships, held May 17-18, at the Davidson Centre, Kincardine.
With 28 points, Eybergen took the Junior girls title, and advances to OFSAA in London, May 26-27.
The top four from the BAA track and field meet, also held in Kincardine, May 10, advanced to CWOSSA. The two-day meet in Kincardine was greeted with hot, windy weather, as athletes competed in running races, hurdles, steeplechase, pole vault, running long jump, triple jump, shot put, discus and javelin.
Coach Carrie Houghton said 35 KDSS athletes competed at CWOSSA, with the top five moving on to OFSAA.
