Ripley Wolves win one, lose one in semi-finals against Milverton
The Ripley Wolves won Game 1, but lost Game 2, as they began their semi-final series against the Milverton Drives last weekend.

At the Ripley Arena Friday night, March 6, Milverton took a 1-0 lead into the second, but the Wolves stormed out in the middle frame and scored two quick goals to take the lead. Devin Kemp scored from Mark Stanley and Tyler McCarthy, while Travis VanGaver followed it up 20 seconds later from Jeremy McQuillin and Corey McCrae.

Cody Britton then gave the Wolves a 3-1 lead late in the second, from Drew Davidson and Jordan Turcotte.

Milverton pulled to within one early in the third, slipping one past Jason Reid, who stopped 33 shots on the night for the win.

Paul Stewart sealed it with a goal late in the third, from Stanley and Kemp to give the Wolves the Game 1 win.

In Milverton Saturday night, the Drives scored early and often on the way to a 6-4 win in Game 2.

The Drives were up 6-1 at the end of the second, and the Wolves just couldn’t score enough by the final buzzer. The series is now tied 1-1.

Game 3 is Friday, March 13, in Ripley, at 8:30 p.m., and Game 4 goes Saturday, March 14, in Milverton at 8:30 p.m.
