Cathy Chambers takes ladies' club championship at Ainsdale; and ladies, senior men's results
The members of Ainsdale Golf Course congratulate ladies club champion Cathy Chambers and men's club champion Derek Regier on their victories during the championships held on the weekend. Senior men's champion was Marv Glazier.

In ladies' league action, Maureen Peet brought her A-plus-plus game to the front nine, carding 38 strokes and sweeping in 14 putts.

Edie Fotheringham led the way in her flight with high Stableford points and low putts, Barb Grubb stroked in a lucky number 13 putts in B flight.

Taking the top two spots for Stableford points this week, by flight, were:
 
  • A - Maureen Peet 21,  Cathy Chambers 20
  • B - Wendy Gardner 21,  Jennifer Lawrie 21
  • C - Nancy Turcotte 21,  Cindy Schmidt 21
  • D - Kathy Colling 22, Marianne Irwin 21
  • E - Edie Fotheringham 31,  Dawn Cleland 29

The low putters for the day were: Maureen Peet 14,  Barb Grubb 13,  Judy Gordon 16,  Muriel Cochrane 16, and  Edie Fotheringham 19

The lucky draw winners of prizes donated by The Co-Operators, courtesy of Jen Cook, sponsor for the day, were:
Kathy Colling,  Jackie Mitchell,  Sandy Petter,  Bonnie Ritchie  Norma Jean Rhody,  Christine MacDonald,  Wendy Gardner,  Jennifer Lawrie,  Deb Quinn, and Colette LePage.

SENIOR MEN'S LEAGUE

Another great turn-out for the Senior Men's Scramble at Ainsdale, Wednesday, with a three-team putt-off required to determine a winner, after each group finished at minus-three on the front nine. 

The team of Bob Black, Phil Thompkins, Bill Heikkila and Richard Emmerton, then prevailed over the teams of Doug McLaughlin, Roger Pilon, Rick Hamilton, Tim Burkett, and Murray Wardell, Dennis Curley, Percy Courtney and Derek Kennedy. 

Closest-to-the-pin winners were Rod MacDonald on No. 3 and Steve MacEachern on No. 8.
