Kincardine Bulldogs host another successful beach volley tournament

The 18th annual Kincardine Bulldogs indoor beach volleyball tournament wrapped up late Saturday evening after a very successful week-long event.

Tuesday, and throughout the weekdays, various local schools came in for their gym classes during the day, and a number of other organizations used the courts for their sports night to play some volleyball in the sand.

Wednesday evening, the Kincardine Recreational Indoor Volleyball League held its tournament and wrap-up party. Eight teams, representing eight different breeds of Bulldogs, played a round-robin tournament with Team Campeiro defeating Team Victorian for the championship.

Thursday evening, a full slate of 24 local teams gathered for the Bragging Rights Business Division which was sponsored this year by Jen Cook and The Co-operators. On the championship side, Robert Q sent K & J Farms packing, and on the consolation side, Home Hardware handled the Relic Teachers.

Results from the weekend tournament are as follows:

Competitive Division was won by the Super Squirrels against arch-rivals the Auto- Blocks, while 22 Bump Street won the consolation side
Recreational A Division had Addicted 2 Sets winning the championship match against Get It Up!, while Suck My Dig took the consolation side
In Recreation B Division, Ballsagna bested Team Satosek for the championship, while Sandy Aces captured the consolation side.
For the hugely popular Recreation C Division and desperate to win it all, was Desperate For Sets edging out Who Gives A Hit, while The G-Spotters nailed the consolation side

Besides the Co-Operators, the organizers appreciate MTC Computers for the use of a couple of TVs to afford the participants the luxury of catching the action from the NHL playoffs while at the tournament.
