Ainsdale golf news for ladies, men's leagues, May 5-6

The season opener for the Ainsdale ladies was held, Tuesday, May 5, under sunny skies but it was very cool. 

Milvi Zuch and Muriel Cochrane did their very best to warm things up with the scorching play on the links.

 

The flight winners for stableford points were:

  • A, Maureen Peet 28.86
  • B, Barb Grubb 31.94
  • C, Sandra Matheson 26.11
  • D, Muriel Cochrane 29.00
  • E, Milvi Zuch 39.39
  • F Brenda Grant

 

The flight winners for low putts:

  • A, Deb Catto 15
  • B, Barb Grubb 16
  • C, Lesley Hawthorne 19
  • D, Muriel Cochrane 15
  • E, Norie Dickson
  • F, Bonnie Boyd 21

 

The sponsored-hole winners for Closest to the Line were,  Jen Lawrie,  Lesley Hawthorne,  Beth Mimnagh,  Norie Dickson and Joanna Malott.

The long drivers were Jen Lawrie,  Kim Williams,  Jackie Mitchell,  Norie Dickson and Joanna Malott, while closest to the sprinkler head was Darlene Murray.

SENIOR MEN'S LEAGUE


Sunny skies and warm temperatures greeted the Senior Men's Opening Day, May 6, at Ainsdale Golf Course.

 

With a nine-hole scramble score of minus-one in a putting playoff was the team of John Kuyvenhoven, Terry Colwell, Bruce Sine and Brian McBride.  

Closest to the pin honours went to Les Jolley at No. 3 and Dave Hannay No. 8.

Our senior men's league is open to anyone, 50 years of age and older. You do not need to be a member - $5 entry. Discounted green-fee for this event. Nine holes, 9 a.m. shotgun start, every Wednesday. Please join us for all the fun!
